One of a kind kokeshi By Yuko Yamazaki- With box

This exquisite and unique creative (Sosaku) Kokeshi doll is a masterfully crafted piece by the highly acclaimed, award-winning artisan Yuko Yamazaki (山崎裕子).

Entitled "純心" (Junshin), which translates to "Pure Heart," the doll is an artistic reflection of innocence and joy. According to the artist herself, the doll carries the treasures of childhood, beautifully symbolized by the traditional motifs that adorn her attire. Surrounded by intricately detailed temari (traditional handballs) and hand-carved origami cranes (orizuru), her gentle, smiling expression is meant to reflect a heart that is open, honest, and entirely free—like a clear sky untouched by clouds.

The physical craftsmanship perfectly mirrors this poetic meaning. The doll features a beautifully rounded, gentle silhouette with her serene smile meticulously painted onto the natural wood grain of her face. She has a neat, traditional bob hairstyle (okappa) with fine, vertical texture lines carved into the pitch-black wood to simulate individual strands of hair.

Her vibrant, light-yellow kimono is heavily detailed with a mixture of these symbolic childhood treasures. The front of her attire displays the colorful temari patterns and origami cranes perched on checkered platforms, surrounded by delicate pink cherry blossoms (sakura). The artistry continues onto the back of the doll, where her long, dark hair flows all the way down, serving as a deep canvas for more hand-carved elements. A prominent golden crane is depicted soaring across the upper back amidst pink blossoms, contrasting wonderfully against the dark backdrop.
