Rare Vintage Creative Kokeshi By Shido Shozan (1932-1995)

Vintage Sosaku Kokeshi made by Shouzan Shido (1932-1995) She has a great natural look. The Kokeshi is wearing a mino. This is a type of clothing worn by the farmers and rural people in the mountains to protect them from rain and snow. 

Master Shido was born in 1932 and raised in Oita Prefecture, where he began creating Kokeshi in 1957. His creative works were recognized with numerous awards such as the Prime Minister's Award. His Kokeshi are highly wanted by collectors and are therefore hard to find.
