Rare vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Aida Seiho (Harumine) (1926-1998)

A traditional wooden kokeshi doll by Aida Harumine, featuring a serene hand-painted face with closed eyes and delicate black hair details. The slender body is decorated with elegant floral motifs in red, white, and green, while the decorative headpiece adds a distinctive artistic touch. Its minimalist craftsmanship and warm natural wood tones reflect the charm of classic Japanese kokeshi artistry.

Born in Yonezawa, Yamagata prefecture in 1926 and died in 1998, he was one of the founders of creative kokeshi in the 60s. During his career he has received numerous awards.
