Vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Keiji Miyama

This creative Japanese kokeshi doll titled "Michiyuki" (道行)—which translates to "Journey" or "Traveling"—was crafted by the celebrated and award-winning artisan Keiji Miyama.
The doll features a charming and distinctive design with light natural wood hair styled in a straight bob, topped with a bright red bow, and an endearing facial expression with gentle closed eyes. She wears a vibrant yellow kimono adorned with intricate red geometric patterns. A standout highlight of this piece is the traditional straw hat (sugegasa) held at her side, beautifully hand-painted with a vivid Japanese landscape featuring a scenic house, water, and pine trees. The doll comes complete with its original presentation box, detailing the title of the piece, the artist's name, and the prestigious awards it has won, including the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award.
