Vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Toa Sekiguchi (1942-)

This handcrafted creative Sosaku Kokeshi doll by renowned master artist Toa Sekiguchi (関口東亜) is titled "Shunshin" (春心), which translates to "Spring Heart" or "Spring Spirit." The handcrafted wooden doll features a dark, wooden-grain topknot hairstyle, serene closed eyes, and a hand-painted black kimono adorned with vibrant red and yellow camellia flowers (tsubaki) accented by subtle gold dusting. The doll comes with its original storage box bearing calligraphic inscriptions of the title, the artist’s name, and his official red seal (hanko).
