Vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Toa Sekiguchi (1942-)

Titled "Dōji" (meaning "Child" or "Young Girl"), this handcrafted Creative Kokeshi (Sōsaku Kokeshi) doll was made by award-winning master artisan Toa Sekiguchi (関口東亜, b. 1942). Turned from natural wood, the doll features a rounded body and a gentle, peaceful face with closed eyes and a delicate smile, topped with a hairstyle fixed by a red hair accessory. Her body is decorated with wood-burned details and hand-painted autumn leaves in shades of red and green, exemplifying Sekiguchi's elegant, nature-inspired design style.
