Rare vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Aida Seiho (Harumine) (1926-1998)

Traditional Japanese Sosaku kokeshi doll by Aida Seiho, The rounded head features a serene yet slightly expressive face with bold painted eyes and a small red mouth. A distinctive carved collar and the angled wooden top detail give the figure a strong, sculptural character. A refined and collectible example of classic Japanese folk art.

Titled: Dadakko - Spoiled child

Born in Yonezawa, Yamagata prefecture in 1926 and died in 1998, he was one of the founders of creative kokeshi in the 60s. During his career he has received numerous awards.
