Rare Vintage Creative Kokeshi By Hideo Ishihara (1925-1999)

This is a rare kokeshi by Hideo Ishihara, the kimono is decorated with maple leaves.

Hideo Ishihara, is a well know Sosaku Kokeshi artist. He was born in Tokyo, and began his career by making Traditional Narugo dolls in 1957. he received more than 60 awards, including the most important off them all the Prime Minister’s Award.
