This Japanese sosaku (creative) kokeshi doll, crafted by award-winning artist Toa Sekiguchi, features a charming boy character inspired by Kintaro (the Golden Boy of Japanese folklore). Carved from natural wood with delicate turned details, the round figure showcases painted dark hair tied at the top, soft blushing cheeks, and a minimalist facial expression. He wears a deep green jacket detailed with small yellow leaf or flower accents over a rich red bib (haragake) emblazoned with the traditional character for "gold" (金, kin). The doll comes with its original cardboard display box featuring handwritten calligraphic kanji and the artisan's red seal stamp.
Height: 14,5cm
Weight: 240g
