Exclusive HUGE Sosaku kokeshi by Sato Kouson

This creative (sosaku) kokeshi doll by renowned craftsman Sato Kouson (佐藤香村) features a finely detailed, gentle face topped with traditional black-painted hair styled in a high bun. Its wooden body is framed by bright red rings and highlights an ema (wooden votive plaque) motif framed with gold outline, depicting a charging wild boar (いのしし, inoshishi)—representing the Year of the Boar in the Japanese zodiac. The plaque is inscribed with "大吉" (Daikichi, meaning great good fortune) alongside auspicious seasonal motifs like pine needles (matsu) and pink plum blossoms (ume). It comes complete with its original red storage box featuring the artist's calligraphy and red seal.
