Exclusive Kijiyama kokeshi made by Takano Yohachi (1907-1994)

Exclusive Kijiyama kokeshi, she is in wonderfull condition. The kimono os decorated with colorful maple leaves.

Takano Yohachi was born in Nou town in Niigata prefecture and he has loved painting since he was a child. Later he moved to Tokyo, During these years he also mastered the art of Yuzen dyeing which is traditionally used for kimono. After the war he settled in Yuzawa town where he started showing interest in traditional kokeshi dolls and woodworking.
