Exclusive Vintage Gumma Kokeshi by Sansaku Sekiguchi (1925-2018)

Beautiful Sosaku kokeshi by Sekiguchi Sansaku. Rare kokeshi decorated with colorful Hortensia's.

Titled: Hydrangea - Hortensia

Sekiguchi Sansaku was born in 1925. He is most defenitly the most renowned kokeshi master and the only artisan who has been certified by the Japanese government as “Master of Creative Kokeshi”. He has his own museum in his birth city of Shibukawa. nd it’s being managed by his children. who are all kokeshi artists as well. He has won the prestigious prime minister award three times for his amazing and unique kokeshi dolls.
