Beautiful Sosaku kokeshi made by Hideo Ishihara, she is titled "Omiyamairi" what means " Shrine visit". Omiyamairi is a traditional Shinto shrine ceremony in Japan for newborn babies.
Hideo Ishihara, is a well know Sosaku Kokeshi artist. He was born in Tokyo, and began his career by making Traditional Narugo dolls in 1957. he received more than 60 awards, including the most important off them all the Prime Minister’s Award.
