Exclusive vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Issetsu Kuribayashi (1924-2011)

This creative Sosaku Kokeshi doll, titled Shōjo (少女 - "Girl"), is crafted by Master Issetsu Kuribayashi (一雪, 1924–2011), one of the pioneering figures of the creative kokeshi movement.
The piece features his signature carved, rounded bob hairstyle and a tranquil facial expression with eyes closed in serene contemplation and subtle red accents for the nose and lips. Turned from richly grained natural wood, her bell-shaped body depicts a kimono decorated with deeply carved, textured floral patterns in bold red and black pigments. Demonstrating Kuribayashi's award-winning woodworking and artistic craftsmanship, this elegant doll comes complete with its original presentation box displaying its title (Shōjo) and the artisan's mark (Issetsu).
