Abe Katsuhide was a highly respected Japanese artisan (1924-2000) known for his mastery of creating traditional Tsuchiyu-style Kokeshi dolls, a Japanese folk art form originating in Fukushima Prefecture. He learned his craft from Ichiro Abe and is recognized for his exceptional skill in the Tsuchiyu style's characteristic rokuro moyo circular painting technique and precise head attachment methods, creating high-quality, collectible wooden dolls.
