Exclusive Vintage Kijiyama kokeshi by Takano Yohachi (1907-1994) What an exceptional work this is! This masterpiece despict a young woman warming herself by the campfire, the colors are spectacular!! This is by far the most beautiful work we have had from Takano Yohachi so far! The pictures don't give her the Wright honor, she is just spectacular in real! 

Takano Yohachi was born in Nou town in Niigata prefecture and he has loved painting since he was a child. Later he moved to Tokyo, During these years he also mastered the art of Yuzen dyeing which is traditionally used for kimono. After the war he settled in Yuzawa town where he started showing interest in traditional kokeshi dolls and woodworking.
