Exclusive HUGE Sosaku kokeshi by Sato Kouson

Made of carved wood, the doll has a warm, natural patina and is topped with a distinct black wooden topknot. Its body, painted with a faded teal-blue wash, serves as the canvas for the main motifs. The front is dominated by a detailed, traditional white maneki-neko (lucky cat) drawn inside a golden circle, featuring a red bow, a patterned scarf, and its right paw raised in a gesture to invite good fortune.

A key feature of Kouson's work is the inclusion of kanji characters, which frame the cat to enhance its theme. On the left side of the body are the gold-painted characters 長寿 (chōju), which translate to "longevity" and "long life." On the right side are the characters 福禄 (fukuroku), meaning "good fortune and prosperity" or "happiness." Together, the maneki-neko and the kanji create a powerful, singular symbol for well-being.
