Exclusive one of a kind kokeshi by Yuko Yamazaki

This creative Japanese (sosaku) kokeshi doll by award-winning artist Yuko Yamazaki (山崎裕子) is titled "Chitose" (千歳), referring to "a thousand years" or longevity, associated with the traditional Shichi-Go-San festival for children. Crafted from wood with natural grain detailing on her gentle face, she holds a traditional bag of chitose-ame (thousand-year candy) inscribed with 千歳飴. She wears a rich, multi-layered kimono featuring a teal patterned base decorated with large pink plum blossoms (ume) and red accents, paired with a neat black bob hairstyle. The doll comes with its original red cardboard box, which displays a calligraphy label with the title, artist signature, Hanko seal, and an inscription honoring Yamazaki as a Minister of Education Award winner.

Yuko Yamazaki was born in 1956 in Tokyo, She was the apprentice of master Takashi Yoshida (1948-2007) She has clearly inherited his style, with her own experience and creativity she makes real masterpieces! Yuko already has a lot of awards behind her name!

Yuko also is a Instructor of the Creative Kokeshi Classroom and she is a Member of Japan Creative Kokeshi Craft Association.
