Exclusive Vintage creative Kokeshi by Masami Kato (1925-)

This is a very rare find!she as a lovely big Mage and traditional hairstyle is exemplary. The painted work on the Haori and Obi is enhanced by hand-carving the kimono body, adding texture to this wonderfull piece!

Born in Naruko in the perfecture Myagi in 1925. Her husband, who was a traditional kokeshi master, taught her how to make kokeshi. She has won several awards, including the most prestigious Prime Minister award.
