Vintage Gumma kokeshi made by Kazuo Takamizawa (1927-)

Beautiful Gumma kokeshi by Kazuo Takamizawa. Very colorful piece! 

Takamizawa-san lives in Maebashi City, in Gunma Prefecture. He has won  multiple awards with his wonderful kokeshi dolls, including yhe moat important off them all "the Prime Minister’s Award". 

Most of his kokeshi dolls have a carved and stained hair decoration, and mostly with a Mage (bob) as a separate piece. He began creating more colorful dolls in the 70s.
