Lovely vintage Samurai kokeshi by Sato Soichi

This Creative Kokeshi doll by artisan Sato Soichi depicts the legendary samurai Date Masamune, famously known as "The One-Eyed Dragon." Crafted from wood, the doll features a samurai kabuto (helmet) adorned with Masamune's iconic large golden crescent moon maedate (helmet crest) alongside his signature eyepatch. The body and armor are decorated with detailed geometric patterns in deep brown, mustard yellow, and white tones, masterfully blending traditional Japanese wood-turning techniques with historical portraiture.
