Rare vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Tanaka Harumasa (1916-1966)

This kokeshi doll by Tanaka Harumasa is a fine example of contemporary creative kokeshi craftsmanship. The doll has a tall, slender cylindrical body finished in a deep red lacquer, decorated with stylized maple leaves in warm yellow and black tones. His works are realy hard  to find, and are therefore in great demand among collectors worldwide.
He won the most important off them all the  "Prime Minister award" in 1965.
