Rare Vintage Creative Kokeshi By Issetsu Kuribayashi (1924-2011)

Issetsu Kuribayashi was born in Yonezawa City, Issetsu Kuribayashi is considered has one of the founders of the creative (Sosaku) kokeshi. He has won every major award given over the years with his dolls. He began his career in 1955 and is featured in the Nuremberg Toy Museum in Germany along with fellow Sosaku artist Watanabe Masao. Many of his works were one-of-a-kind creations.
