Rare vintage Gumma kokeshi by Uchida Shinichiro

This vintage Sosaku (creative) kokeshi doll by renowned artist Uchida Shinichiro features a distinct, rounded wooden silhouette with a dark bob haircut (okobobo) and closed, peaceful eyes. The body showcases the rich grain of the natural wood, delicately decorated with carved and painted vine motifs in autumn earth tones—shades of rust red, deep green, and subtle mustard yellow—accented by fine pyrography details along the folds of the kimono.
