Rare vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Takeda Masashi (1930-2015) - Mother and child

This handcrafted wooden creative kokeshi doll set by master artisan Takeda Masashi beautifully captures the intimate, tender bond between a mother and her child. Carved from natural wood with rich grain, the sculpture features a larger mother figure supporting a smaller child figure nestled closely beside or on top of her. Both figures showcase rounded heads with minimalist facial features and elegant, horizontally carved ridges along their bodies, highlights of Takeda Masashi's signature wood-turning techniques. The warm natural tones, soft curves, and subtle hand-carved textures make this piece a heartwarming and timeless piece of Japanese folk art.
