Vintage Hina set by Yamanaka Sanpei

Vintage set kokeshi from the famous award-winning Sanpei Yamanaka. 

 Height: 8,5cm

Yamanaka was born in 1926 in Yamagata and made creative kokeshi throughout his career. His kokeshi are loved by collectors all over the world. In 1979 he won the Premier Award.

Their name is "Spring Moon" and it depicts a rare pair of Hina matsuri finely engraved and hand painted.

Hina matsuri, also known as Doll Festival or Children's Day, is a Japanese holiday that falls on March 3.
