This delightful pair of vintage Sōsaku (creative) Japanese kokeshi dolls portrays the cozy, rustic charm of winter in Japan's northern country. Each compact figure features a natural wooden body accented by wide mushroom-shaped headwear and matching fringed scarves around their necks—one detailed in green, the other in deep red. With subtle facial expressions, tiny red lips, and warm natural grain textures, this duo was handcrafted by Masami Kato, a member of the Japan Modern Kokeshi Artist Association, capturing a heartwarming representation of cold-climate folk attire.
