Vintage Sosaku kokeshi

This handcrafted wooden creative (Sosaku) kokeshi doll features a warm, natural wood grain finish, rounded shoulders, and a sleek bob hair style (bobu-cut) framing a sweet, minimal face with closed eyes and a small red mouth. Her cylindrical body is adorned with carved and burnished plum blossom (ume) floral motifs and accented with a dark wooden waist band and a red collar detail. A sticker near the base reads "国立公園 大山" (Daisen National Park), identifying it as a souvenir piece, while the underside bears a handwritten date in ink reading "7年8月29日" (August 29, Year 7, Heisei era 7, corresponding to 1995).
