Iwamoto Yoshizo (1912-1973) was a renowned Grand Master kokeshi doll artist, specifically known for his Nakanosawa style dolls, which are characterized by their unique expression and vibrant colors. He was the son of Iwamoto Zenkichi, who is credited with originating the Nakanosawa style. Iwamoto Yoshizo continued his father's legacy and trained apprentices to preserve the style, including the "Tako bouzu" or "Octopus-headed" style, which eventually became an independent style.
