Rare Vintage creative kokeshi by Toshio Sekiguchi (1947-)

This charming creative (sosaku) kokeshi doll by the acclaimed artisan Toshio Sekiguchi features his signature stout, rounded, and wonderfully plump body shape. The doll showcases a sweet, serene facial expression with squinting eyes and a tiny red mouth, beautifully framed by a smooth, black bob haircut. She is dressed in a warm orange-red kimono adorned with delicate white plum blossom patterns, which is layered under a deep, rich reddish-brown vest (haori). A contrasting light blue obi with elegant gold accents ties the traditional ensemble together, perfectly highlighting Sekiguchi's masterful woodwork and detailed hand-painted craftsmanship.
