This sweet pair of vintage Sōsaku (creative) Japanese kokeshi dolls captures the quiet beauty of early winter. Designed with wide, cape-like lower bodies and snow-dusted hoods framing their serene, sleeping faces, the figures are styled in complementary tones—one wearing dark green and the other a warm reddish-burgundy cape. Handcrafted by artisan Hōgetsu Maruyama (丸山峰月) from Akita prefecture, the set is titled "Hatsufuyu" ("Early Winter"), charmingly conveying the gentle chill and peaceful atmosphere of the season's very first snowfall.
