Exclusive Sosaku kokeshi by Shido Shozan (1932-1995)

This beautiful vintage Sosaku (creative) kokeshi doll, is a stunning piece created by the highly acclaimed, award-winning master artisan Shido Shozan (1932–1995). 
Known for his masterful ability to emphasize natural wood grains and sleek, minimalist forms, Shozan's distinct artistic voice is clearly reflected in this elegant doll. The figure features a slender, elongated body carved with a simple, clean V-shaped neckline that shifts all focus to the warmth and flowing patterns of the natural wood tone. Her head is defined by a perfectly smooth, rounded bob haircut that gracefully frames a serene and modest face with closed, delicate eyes. Crowning the piece is a remarkably tall, stylized topknot (magemono style), which gives the doll a striking, mid-century modern silhouette.
