Yaku cedar refers to the cedar that grows naturally on the island of Yaku, called Yakushima in Japan. This tree lives more than 2000 years.
This tree is listed as a Unesco world Heritage, therefore you can not cut this tree in any way! What they use are pieces of sick or dead trees!
Therfore this kokeshi is a very rare piece!
