Rare vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Takahashi Hashime (1918-2002)

This Sosaku kokeshi doll by artisan Takahashi Hajime (Hashime), features a large, round wooden head with a serene, minimalist facial expression characterized by finely painted narrow eyes and a tiny red mouth. The head is adorned with a distinctive black wooden hair ornament (mage) tied at the top. Its slender, cylindrical wooden body is lacquered in a vibrant red hue and decorated with delicate, hand-painted yellow and reddish floral motifs that resemble stylized chrysanthemums or blossoms cascading down the front and back.
