Rare vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Toa Sekiguchi (1942-)

This Japanese sosaku (creative) kokeshi doll by master artisan Toa Sekiguchi is titled Shūsai (秋彩), meaning "Autumn Colors." The handcrafted wooden figure features a serene, closed-eyed expression and smooth, dark-painted hair adorned with a small red hair ornament. She wears a rich red kimono decorated with vibrant, hand-carved maple leaf motifs in autumn shades of yellow, green, and orange against black panel accents. The doll comes accompanied by its original cardboard box, complete with handwritten calligraphic title and artist signature alongside Toa Sekiguchi's red seal stamp.
