Vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Kenichi Murakami. Very elegant kokeshi with a great wood grain.

Titled: Hajirai

Murakami was born in 1929 and  before making kokeshi he studied oil painting in the 40s. In the mid-40s, he began studying and creating  kokeshi. He his know to use only a little bit of paint on his dolls to show the natural wood.
