Vintage Daruma kokeshi

this traditional Japanese Daruma kokeshi doll features a distinctive oval, egg-shaped wooden body that highlights its natural wood grain. It is painted with the classic, fierce facial expression of Bodhidharma, characterized by prominent, bushy black eyebrows, wide-open eyes, a prominent nose, and a stern downturned mouth. Black and reddish paint outlines its traditional hooded robe, and a large black kanji character (typically representing good fortune or luck, such as 福 fuku) is dynamically brushed onto the front of its base.
