Vintage Sosaku kokeshi by Isamu Yamakawa - Mother and child

This vintage Japanese creative Kokeshi doll by artist Isamu Yamakawa beautifully depicts a mother carrying her sleeping baby on her back. Crafted from natural wood with rich tones, the doll features a gently tilted head with a sculpted hair bow and red accent pin, alongside finely carved floral motifs on her dark wooden robe. The tiny child peeks sweetly over her shoulder, making it a tender representation of motherly affection, complete with its original black wooden base.
